andre nickatina pices birthday bash

andre nicktina show was da shit, the songs were so good they sounded better in person. wow, i'm so happy i decided to go out and check out this show last sunday night. it just happen to be andre's birthday too, now i get that song "id rather be a pices but im a killa whale", by the time andre came out i was starting to get tired from the opening perfomers B.INC, those guys were really good. red fox tavern is a great place for music that was my first time there but not the last time. check out http://www.redfoxtavern.com/

tri-tip heaven

the tri tip sandwiches at porter street BBQ are known to be the best in Humboldt for years. i haven't been there in a long time, sometimes you've got to stop eating the same thing to truly appreciate the awesomeness of it all. that is the case with porter street BBQ, i used to go there regularly when it opened and i started to get burnt out on it. i went in and had a tri-tip sandwich yesterday, it was the best steak sandwich Ive ever had. the service was fast and courteous. the prices were very reasonable, the only thing i would change is the eating environment. the restaurant was old and out dated it looked like it should be on restaurant makeover show.

now its chinese in e-town

just wrapped up a nice birthday dinner at Lou's here in eureka. they are known for some pretty good Chinese food. the place was so quite you could hear a pin drop they are not known for ambiance. the food was good and the place is clean but something is missing. music is a big deal when you go to out to eat, we had a lil phone with music on it just to break up the awkward silence. you can hear the cooks in the kitchen banging dishes around. seriously, i love the crab rangoon but i need more for my money. i hate feeling like the only one in the restaurant. these guys are super fast, super quiet and every time i go there we are the only ones there. the prices are reasonable and the service is good. i just need a little more excitement with my dinner.

mexican food=yum

its really nice to eat at a authentically good mexican restraraunt like chapala cafe here in eureka. the service was excellent people that work there have a strong work ethic. you never an empty glass, all your food and beverage related needs are well attended to. the food was what you would expect authentic mexican food to tast like, well seasoned, big portions. you will get your money's worth here. chapalacafe.com
